Accounting

When renewing policies from the servicing screen a new feature is being added that will allow population options for the policy info screen to be selected during the renewal process. In order to gain access to this new feature make sure to access ORGANIZATION > accounting > invoicing setup > invoice defaults tab and select the Allow Override check box in the Renewal area. Selection of this box will provide access to this new feature for all staff members that have security access to renew policies.

Security Alerts

The following security items can be found by accessing the user rights templates for each user type. To access the templates, on the Utility menu, click SETUP > Security Administration > user rights templates. Selecting the check box as explained below and saving the template prior to exiting provides the newly assigned rights. After assignment of rights, ask users affected by the change to log out of Nexsure and then back in to activate the new security rights.

Invoices

New security rights to modify the Date Booked have been added in this release. In order for your employees to have access to modify the Date Booked, select the Modify check box under Date Booked. Security selections can be made to grant access.

• Modify: Displays the Calendar icon to enable the modification of the Date Booked. If Modify is not selected, the Date Booked will be an automated entry of whichever date is later the Transaction Date or the Effective Date. The Modify right controls both the single invoice Date Booked field as well as the master invoice, list bill master invoice, Down Payment Date Booked and 1st Installment Date Booked on the invoice header.

Security rights to modify the Due Date have been updated in this release. In order for your employees to have access to modify the Due Date to set it prior to the effective date, select the Modify check box under Due Date. Along with setting the rights to Modify the Due Date, the new right to allow a due date Prior to an Effective Date must also be set to Modify. These two rights together will enable the user to create invoices and master invoices with due dates prior to the effective dates and booked date of an invoice. Security selections can be made to grant access.

• Modify: When selected along with the security setting of Invoice > Due Date > Modify, enables a due date to be entered that is prior to the effective date on the policy. However, the due date cannot be set prior to the current date. This option affects the single invoice, Invoice Due Date, and a master invoice, Down payment Due Date and 1st Installment Due Date.

Note: The Invoice > Due Date > Modify option must also be enabled so the due date fields can be edited.

Accounting 

• A process to reverse and rebill an invoice is available in the event a client needs to be rebilled. This rebill process will not be available if the invoice has already been rebilled or the invoice is a reversal. The rebill policy header will be prefilled from the source policy header. The premium, tax, fee, commission and other commission will come from the original invoice. (F6373 & F6479) Link to topic Link to video
• Added ability to copy commission splits. If adding a premium to an existing policy, a Copy Other Commissions option will be available. Select Yes to copy Other Commissions information to a new line for an additional premium.(F6365) Link to topic
• Automatic production credit allocation has been added. Use the [Auto-Allocate] feature to redistribute the production credit equally among all Other Commission line items. Click [Save] when complete. The distribution can also be changed manually by making entries in the Production boxes and clicking [Save]. (D6444) Link to topic Link to video

• Ability to prevent users from modifying the Date Booked value during invoicing to ensure production and revenue are recognized in the correct accounting month. Security settings for the invoice Date Booked area are now available to lock the Date Booked fields or open the fields to edit the Date Booked as desired. The Modify right controls editing to both the single invoice Date Booked as well as the master invoice, Down Payment Date Booked and 1st Installment Date Booked on the invoice header.(F6038) Link to topic
• Security has been added that enables a due date to be entered that is prior to the effective date on the policy. However, the due date cannot be set prior to the current date. CRM

• The Global Search option now contains the ability to search for Invoice ID numbers. Once an invoice is found, there are two new links available. The Invoice Summary icon in the Global Search results, displays only when searching for an invoice. The icon links to the transaction summary tab in the Invoice Summary view. The Invoice ID link in the Global Search results, displays only when searching for an invoice. • A new option to update form prefills without refreshing assignments is available when remarketing a policy. Select Refresh assignment to create the marketing policy with both the selected policy's assignment as well as the primary client assignment. The client assignment will then become the primary assignment on the policy. If Refresh assignment is not selected, the policy assignment only will be copied to the new marketing policy. • Lock policy when a servicing iteration is being created to avoid concurrency errors. (F6465)
• Added additional check to audits, endorsements and edits to catch issues with multiple sessions or multiple users accessing the same policy. (F6462)
• In the Remove column a new check box has been added in order to select multiple assignments to be removed at once. Select the check boxes next to each assignment to be removed and click [remove selected]. To select all but the Primary assignment, select the Remove check box in the header of the summary. • The following new options can be used to build Renewal policy information. Link to topic Link to video

• Use the "Click here..." link to copy the policy term, carriers, policy number and policy description. The policy being copied from will be highlighted in yellow. (F6446)
• Use the Select check box to determine the line of business to copy to the renewal. The policy info defaults will be used. (F6457)
• Once the line of business is selected, the option to Copy the carrier information from a policy is displayed. Use Defaults can also be chosen to use the default carrier settings.

Important: To enable selections for the following, the Allow Override check box must be selected on the Invoice Defaults screen. See the Invoice Defaults Tab topic for more information.

• Display monoline lob's underneath header on second renewal selection screen to make room for new drop-down. (F6501)

Reports

• When adding an invoice, the option to click Preview to view the invoice is now available. Once the invoice is posted, the Preview link will change in to a Print link. When previewing the invoice, options to save, print or email the invoice are not available. The invoice must first be posted to enable printing and delivery. (F5745) Link to topic Link to video
